International Women's Day

International Women's Day

Happy International Women’s Day!

Today, the 8th of March the world celebrates women and their achievements to date, as well as bringing to light the work that must still be done.

The United Nations officially declared the day to be known as International Women’s day in 1977, but it was the women who over 100 years ago marched on the 8th of March to protest war and subsequently campaign for equality.

It is 2020 and this year the United Nations theme for the celebrated day is, “Each for Equal”.

I think many countries celebrate it differently but at the heart of it, women are empowering each other, challenging the norm and taking action
