A short stay at Cascade Manor
On my last trip to Paarl I booked accommodation for a short stay at Cascade Manor which is like a country manor house with the offerings of a boutique hotel. The hotel has a spa on site, but most appealing for me was the feeling of being smack bang in the middle of nature.
The grounds are surrounded by olive groves and they have their very own waterfall with beautiful pathways and walking trails.
Also it’s worth mentioning they are a little ways out of the city and that cellphone signal is very poor, so you are in a sense removed from the world in this gorgeous setting, though there is wifi, if you absolutely must have it.
I must say that the dinners at Cascade was phenomenal. They serve 3-course meals and actually call you late afternoon to confirm your option in advance for the evening. By the taste you can tell that their food is made with love, and the dinner service is impeccable.
Real care and attention to detail.
And in such a peaceful environment!
I so regret not taking photos of their dishes – I was too quick to dig in.
So, they have a spa … and I did not get to make use of it – because Covid. They do offer SOME treatments with advance bookings, they did not see my very advanced request until the day before I booked out, and by then I had already scheduled a late paragliding session instead to make the best of my ‘down’ time.
But what a treat that was. The paragliding. I will take a glide over a massage any day.
As at the time of this post, their Spa is closed again because of the second Covid-wave, and the hotel is only offering accommodation to essential travelers. Which is good. They are safety conscious.
The ideal getaway with offerings of:
An indoor heated pool
A conference room
Wi Fi Access
A spa with a sauna and steam room
Disabled Access Room
Mountain Biking Trails
Terraces and Courtyards
Outdoor swimming pool, and a little splash pool.
Olive Oil Tasting
A gorgeous waterfall just 300m away
